Dear Emily,
It is with heartfelt sadness and dismay that Mick and I write you to convey our condolences at your loss of Taylor. A devastating loss of such a talented and beautiful soul. We remember her so well from our all too-brief-meetings at family reunions. May her words and music be a legacy for all of us. Our deepest sympathy, Emily,

Debbie and Mick

My condolences and prayers lift up for Taylor and her family,

I am a hunter, and saw the story on our blog. This is highly irregular, though coyotes have attacked and I beleive killed children in CA over the years.

No she was NOT mistaken for a deer, the coyotes became tame in the park and lost fear, most likely.

Taylor you were a beautiful woman, I wish your family peace.

So saddened to hear about such a young beautiful girl's tragedy! Just soooo unbelievable, and being a mother of three children myself I can only sympathize with her family and friends! I lost my sister up in the Highlands of Cape Breton in a car accident and my heart goes out to you all! Time heals the pain but they will remain in our hearts every day we see the beauty of The Highlands of Cape Breton!

I had just 'discovered' Taylor's music when I read about her death... so sad that such a blossoming talent has had her life cut short in such a way. I will continue to listen to her music ...as I am sure many, many more people will.

This was indeed a tragic accident & a great loss to the world of music.

Unfortunately, Some people are advocating the mass slaughter of all the Coyotes in the Park! ...Typical, knee jerk reactions of act first ... think later!

When humans kill for Sport or Revenge, they only exhibit some of the worst traits we have in our make up & I don't believe that Taylor Mitchell, as an environmentalist herself, would wish to see any revenge killings in her name!

The fact that the numbers of these animals may be on the increase, is probably down to man's interference with their habitat, food sources & predators.

So, rather than kill these animals in her name, they should start a foundation or trust in her name instead, designed to sort out the rightful place of these animals in that environment & with education programs teach future generations how best to use those wide open spaces, safely.

To Taylors family:
the first time I heard a song from Taylor is a few minutes ago but I knew from the first minute, that she was very talented. Just the songs I heard at youtube.com were all that kind of songs to listen closer. In time she would have become very famous.
To lose a child is always hard, to lose it so early even harder. No one, who was not in this situation before can feel in anyway what you are going through.
I just can wish you strength.
