Taylor's Guestbook

Julia Pearce

Adelaide, South Australia

What a sad loss not only to her family but the world of music. May her beautiful spirit live on through her music and to her family - know that this vibrant, wonderful girl has left a legacy that will go on forever. "I'd rather live one day as a lion than a thousand as a lamb" God bless.....

to Emily Mitchell,
you wrote so beautifully about your fabulous daughter on the homepage.
i hope that you can gain strength in the knowledge that Taylor's music is touching more and more people, including myself, who only knew about her after her tragic death.

it must be incredibly hard for you, but i'm sure she would wish you to continue to celebrate her life. from what i have seen and heard, i can tell that you brought into the world a truly exceptional person, and her light remains in this world.

i have just ordered the cd. i know it is something that i will treasure.
i hope that you can move forward, as Taylor would wish. and i thank you for what you wrote so movingly, and for all that you gave to your wonderful daughter, and through her the world.
peace,
steve

I am so sorry for your loss. Like many other's I came across Taylor's music after she had passed away. It is unbelievably cruel how she was taken away. I just hope you find comfort in the fact her music will live on and she will forever be immortalised by her songs. Once again I wish to leave my condolences with Taylor's family and friends. My thoughts are with you.

I heard about Taylor on the news one night, and even before I heard her sing, I couldn't help but think what I loss it was. That's why the next day when I got an assignment in English to write a poem about something I heard on the news, I knew I had to write a poem in Taylor's memory. I feel it's only right to share it.

Death of A Shooting Star

A beautiful girl of only eighteen,
planning to be a star.
Used to go to school but she thinks all she needs is her voice and her guitar
She packed up her things, on a new set of wheels
She decided to go on tour.
A few weeks later she hiked on a trail
That held a calming allure.
On the Skyline Trail did this talented girl
Decide to take a stroll.
But unknown to her, on this beautiful path,
She would pay a fatal toll.
Two terrible beasts upon her came,
And mercy did they lack.
No man, nor woman, nor child, nor adult
Could survive such a vicious attack.
Then shots were fired from officers’ guns,
Bullets aimed straight and true.
One did hit an assailant fleeing,
And wounded him through and through.
In the black of night, with their flashlights bright,
While the brutal killers slumbered,
They shot one beast, and he did feel
The embrace of death encumber.
The second still hunted, the family grieves
For the loss of their shooting star.
Pulled from the heavens by the hand of a beast,
Like snow falling on heated tar.
Her voice heard,
No more.

The news reports can be misleading so if any information is wrong, I sincerely apologize.

I had an idea. If you come here and see this message you should try to do some good deeds in your life to honor Taylor's memory. If we all try to do more good deeds than we would have thought to do ordinarily, then maybe we can do more good in this world than she could have done alone. If we can do enough, I think maybe she would have found it to be worth it.

What a sad way to learn to know a real great musician. Somebody should invent a 'life-jacket' for people who hike in the woods. Something bright-coloured that explodes with a lot of noise like an airbag around a person in danger. It would hunt mostly animals away.
To avoid tragedies like this in the future.
My condoleances to Taylor's family and friends.
