Taylor's Guestbook

Frank Byrnes

Pittsfield, MA

A long time musician myslef, I grieve of her loss. I'm also an avid outdoors person spending enormous amounts of time in the forests surrounding James Taylor's homested. I always carry something to protect myself even if it is never needed. That is the sure way to be safe while enjoying the beauty of the true outdoors. I'm sure that is just what Taylor was taking in despite the outcome. I'm deeply sorry to hear of her misfortune.

Although I had never met Taylor, she was very much part of my musical family. Sadly the world was robbed of more beautiful music from this very talented young lady and from all that I have read so far- was as beautiful inside as the music she put out to the world. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.

Lonesome Town

There's a place where lovers go
To cry their troubles away
And they call it Lonesome Town
Where the broken hearts stay
[Lonesome town]

You can buy a dream or two,
To last you all through the years
And the only price you pay
Is a heart full of tears
[Full of tears]

Goin' down to lonesome town,
Where the broken hearts stay,
Goin' down to lonesome town
To cry my troubles away.

In the town of broken dreams,
The streets are filled with regret,
Maybe down in lonesome town,
I can learn to forget.
[To forget]

Maybe down in lonesome town,
I can learn to forget,
[Lonesome town]
